Practice Survey 2006
Each year in June the practice
carries out a survey of over 300 patients to try to
provide feedback in order to improve our service.
We use the
General
Practice Assessment Questionnaire (GPAQ)
which is one of only two accredited tools for GP's in
the U.K.
The
GPAQ benchmark is an average of pooled results form all
the GP's who have used the questionnaire and hence we
can compare to the "average" practice.
Once
the survey is completed and the data analyses we hold a
meeting of the partners to discuss the findings and to
try to find ways of improving the practice during the
next 12 months.
The
results and our suggestions for improvement are then
presented to the practice patient focus group for
discussion.
Please

Survey complete with good (and bad!) comments &
suggestions.
Feb2008 GPAQ
In addition the
government wants to make sure that we are providing
access to our patients. Some of you may have received a
postal questionairre in February 2007. Around 350
patients replied. The results are very encouraging. 85%
of respondants were happy with telephone access, 74%
were able to book an appointment with their GP within 48
hours, 78% were able to book in advance, 87% were able
to book with a specific GP. In addition patients were
also offered choice of hospital to be seen for initial
outpatient contact in 100% of cases. We will try as a
practice to improve of these figures for next year.
