Practice Manager

  • Mrs Barbara Maw, BA DipAMGP, is our Practice Manager.

Please contact her if you have any suggestions for improving our service or if you have a complaint.

Deputy Practice Manager

  • Sue Hughes is our Deputy Practice Manager.

Receptionists

  • Reception is normally your first point of contact with the practice. We have ten part-time reception staff, all of whom are trained to provide you with a friendly, efficient service. They make your appointment, take requests for and give out repeat prescriptions, and give you information about our services. Please speak to them if you have a problem and they will do their best to help - but please remember that we have limited resources so cannot always provide a solution.
Secretaries

  • The doctors’ secretaries have many duties including taking requests for house calls, giving out test results, arranging hospital transport and booking medicals. Should you need advice from your doctor you are likely to be put through to the secretary initially. For non-urgent requests please call between 11.00am and 4.00pm; house calls should be requested between 8.30 and 10.30am where possible.
Our Nurses

Treatment Room Nurses
  • We have a well-equipped treatment room where specially trained nurses are available by appointment. They apply dressings, remove sutures, carry out ear-syringing, blood tests, injections and can give health advice and deal with minor injuries. The nurses can also give telephone advice. Please telephone after 11.00am. We also have a clinic for blood tests two mornings a week.
Clinic Nurses
  • We offer several specialist nurse-run clinics (see Clinics). All the nurses who run these clinics have undertaken additional training.
District Nurses
  • We are proud of our strong team of district nurses who work with us in the community. You can contact them on (01329) 282911 during office hours.
Health Visitors
  • Our health visitors can offer advice on caring for children, special needs, benefits, relationship problems and counselling relating to children aged 0 - 19. Development checks are also carried out at regular intervals. Well baby clinics are run both at the health centre and at other locations. Please ring (01329) 282911 or (01329) 827423.
Midwife
  • Our midwife runs regular clinics at the surgery and works closely with the doctors to provide antenatal and postnatal care. She can also arrange to deliver suitable mothers at Blackbrook Maternity Home. It is easiest to contact her via Blackbrook on (01329) 232275.

Physiotherapist

  • We have a physiotherapist who visits the surgery regularly. Some treatments may have to be provided elsewhere.

Counsellor

  • We can offer counselling sessions for those who feel they would benefit from them and are able to offer the necessary commitment. You should see your doctor initially.
